School Library Media Day for 1998 is held during National Library Week
which is celebrated from April 19-25, 1998. Through
your state professional organization, you may be able to have a
state observation of SLMD. You can also plan observances at the district
and school level. The following information was developed by the
Virginia
Educational Media Association (VEMA) for Virginia's first
observance of
SLMD in
1986. Barbara Booker and Gladys Pannell of VEMA put together an excellent
handbook that is still very relevant if you are looking for school library
media promotional ideas.
