Instructions: Do each of the questions below. [This assignment will be marked only as an acceptable or unacceptable effort.]

• Bring a typed or photocopied sample of dialect writing to class. This can be an excerpt from a novel or other literary work, or it can be your own creation. It only needs to be a minumum of six lines long, but it should be an example representating either a different dialect (or dialects) from those we've discussed (meaning mainly AAE and Southern), OR it should be an example that treats one or more of these dialects quite differently.
