2003 Conference Update

At long last summer has arrived. It has been a long hard winter and, hopefully, everyone can finally enjoy a little break. In fact the harsh New England winter is the reason we were not able to get to Boston until recently in order to make plans for the fall SSLI conference. Now, however, things are on track.

The fall 2003 SSLI conference will take place in Boston from Wednesday November 5 through Saturday November 8. We will meet at the Omni Parker House Hotel located at 60 School Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02108.

The room charge is $139 per night for either a single or a double room. In order to make a reservation please call either 1-800 THEOMNI or 1-617-2278600. Ask for the SSLI block of rooms at $139 per night. You can guarantee the rate using your own credit card. These rates will be held for us only until October 6, 2003. Please make your reservations early. You can always cancel up to 24 hours before arrival without any penalty.

We are working hard to complete all of the final arrangements for the conference. So far we can tell you that we will visit the JFK library and the Boston Athenaeum, an historic private library. We have contacted local authors and storytellers as well as someone from the Simmons Graduate School of Library Science. We still have a lot more in store for you. You will get a newsletter with all the details before the end of the summer.

We would also like to let our book reviewers know that we sent another reminder letter out to the publishers. More books should arrive over the next two months.

As always, you can contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We will be in touch again soon. Otherwise have a great summer.
