The plate for the five-position switch is hand made from nickel-silver and engraved by Chuck. (Thanks to Jo Boley of Richmond, Virginia ... jeweler extraordinaire...for rolling out the plate to just the right thickness!)

The face plate was selected from book matched curly maple using a mirror. Scrimshaw inlay was hand cut from reused piano ivory.  The oval fingerboard markers are also all hand cut from piano ivory.

Check out this close-up and notice how the coco bolo bindings follow the lines of the modified Spanish footer. This design allows for extra room under the fingerboard in the cutaway area.
